Intimate Musical Instruments Museum Wedding • Alex & Emily • Phoenix, Arizona
The music started playing in the intimate space held at the Musical Instruments Museum. The musician strummed on his guitar. It was that familiar tune that has everyone on their feet, their eyes looking eagerly toward the back of the room. The door slowly opened and there she was- the bride. Looking a little nervous, but mostly excited. I cast my eyes over to the groom. His eyes were filled with tears as he watched his beautiful bride slowly walk to down the aisle. All eyes were on her as she made eye contact with Alex, her best friend and soon to be husband, trying to hold back her own tears.
As they joined hands, the officiant did something interesting- at the request of the couple, he started telling the tale of their love story. Their journey. What they liked about each other. The letters written back and forth. And how Alex thought Emily was a robot at first because her grammar was so perfect. He talked about the sacrifices they made for each other, and how it brought them closer together. All of their love and memories woven into a beautiful story that was theirs. The story that had led them to where they were right now. Their story was beautiful, timeless, and unique- but most importantly, it was theirs.
Alex and Emily, your wedding day was magical
Alex and Emily, your wedding day was magical. It was filled with love, tears, and most of all- joy. Your wedding day was the first time that we had met, and you greeted me with hugs and a gentle kindness. I can see why your family flew to Arizona from all over the country to be with you on your special day and to witness you living out another chapter in your story. I already know that it’s going to be a good one.
